Just as the scene was starting to rise... *poof*
the boiler breakers are no where to be seen...
all of fort wayne is MIA
I still see bloomington sometimes..
I myself havent been attending many battles nor has the crew over here.
On top of it all the entire community doesnt contribute to the boards anymore...
What gives? are we too far away from eachother? are we too small?

Well, facebook has been the MAJOR bboy link for me as of late. And most of the time it's a lot easier to jump on a forum that's already up and running strong. I post on the chicago and michigan bboy sites moreso than this one b/c of the sheer number of contributors.
It's def hard to keep a scene strong when most of the active members are in school. I get down with the indianapolis heads, but most of the kids who start breaking give up almost immediately when they realize that....THIS IS NOT AN EASY DANCE. And that it actually takes WORK.
Everytime I get a really GOOD practice in, I either get sick or hurt myself...which makes for a very very very VERY frustrating bboy career as of current.
Even though the scene isn't hardcore battling right now, I know that most of us are practicing HARDCORE for the chance when they are able to travel. I'm paying off student loans and trying to get the fuck outa this city, so gots to save up the $$.
And the heads in school (the ENTIRE INDIANAPOLIS AND BLOOMINGTON scenes) are trying to bboy while NOT dropping out of school. It's all about balancing priorities. SOME of us choose to party instead of go to jams, which is hella unfortunately, but breaking takes priority in different ways in every breaker.
I will be attending IUPUI in the fall, and you can bet i'll be throwing quite a few jams. Now, they prob won't be high quality jams...but at least i'll be giving the scene an opportunity to congregate and dance together...for...money...cause honestly, who wants to drive HOURS to just practice?

I agree with rox-it I know I'm training hard and whenever I see everybody I notice they have something new everytime. But we also need more Bboys. How about a how to section up in here? That way if someone is looking to learn here in Indiana they can come here. And about the not so high quality jams. I don't think Indiana needs big jams yet I think we should throw small jams just for Indiana heads. Remember how excited everyone was with chief rocka? Know what I mean?

hmmm true that. Chief Rocka was the shit. Im sad they dont do it anymore.
If a how to section was put up would anyone even contribute to it? no one contributes to the boards anyways. Our scene is very very small it seems.

i'll be throwing lots of small jams when i'm attending iupui. I could do a chief rocka battle, but the name would be different b/c that name was already taken by Coda. Any ideas for a name? Rock the State?

And does the fall, spring, or winter work best for such a jam?

as for a date the winter is really bad for me, so is summer... maybe fall?
then again fall is notorious for having lots of jams

I know I'm not a pro but I wouldn't mind passing on what I learn in the past years. you know, each one teach one. I'm willing to put up a video once a month and if you did the same thing that would be 2 videos a month. How about Indiana's Championship?

Yeah I get it. Don't worry no hard feelings here. But really where is everybody else? Are we the only ones(rox-it, gato, and me.) who are going to contributed to the forums?

You'd actually be surprised at how many people look at the forum but don't contribute to it. Many of the Chicago and Ohio cats I talk to know about and check out the forum every so often. But thanks to Facebook, the necessity (is it even a necessity?) is dying down. Keep posting and bboys (or more accurately, E-boys) will keep reading.
