well, people call out judges for many different reasons.
One of the main reasons is that the competitor who lost doesn't see the judge in question credible enough to make the call. When there's money on the line, things get heated.
Opinion is one of the main reasons why jams usually have judges from different areas. This past sunday had judges from MI, IN, and TN. I find the judges this past saturday to be fairly credible, but the great thing about this dance style is it's ability/diversity to express.
One crew thinks they expressed themselves better/ more effectively than their opponents so of course they'd be salty if the judges did not agree w/ the decisions. As a dancer, we all have our own opinions as to what is and is not good. But when it comes to a competition, the competitor agrees the accept the judges decision and move on. These judges didn't agree with your performance to this song in this setting against these opponents. Lets learn from it and try again next time. I've been robbed quite a number of times. So i'm trying to break that leaves 0 doubt in anyone's mind that i won.
In a call out, whether or not someone roasts the other may have little or a lot to do with why they were called out in the first place. We don't know. All we can do is watch and hopefully learn more about ourselves through it. That's what i think anyway.
I rarely like to be put on the spot when it comes to defending my beliefs in this dance. But instead of blindly defending it in a "i'm right no matter what" kind of way, i'd rather learn from any mistakes that i made/ continue to make.
I'd like to go over the battle footage if anyone would like to share it. I know there's some stuff on youtube so i'll check that out.
