So,
I started breaking in October of 2006, and therefore missed the last CvC. I cannot express how much i have been inspired by this jam to get better in the areas that i suck in.
I honestly thought the cyphers would be better. I UNDERSTAND that you don't want to cypher if you want to well in a competition (i cyphered my butt off day 1 and did horribly in the CvC battle). But at my current skill level, at comp like CvC i'd rather meet breakers from the other cities by calling them out/vibing w/ them in the cyphers. In addition, i've been hearing about this jam basically since the 1st day i started bboying. Day 1 had me a little worried....Day 2 was out of control! (in a good way)
There was the STUPIDLY INTENSE cypher during the popping finals. Started out as a tricks cypher. The point was to freak out over everything no matter what it was. handstand, forearm-airchari-forearm, crashing....whatever.
So i hold a dope 1-leg hollow back for about 10 seconds...and Man of God comes out of NOWHERE and tags me in the crotch with a towel which makes me fall. So Man of God is hitting everyone who does a trick or freeze w/ his towel. A kid comes out, get's called out by another kid...and it all goes downhill from there.
The CvC finals was sooooo intense. Chicago def had the energy the whole time...which had an obvious affect on the San Diego team (they looked so sad when the final decision was made :-( ) I thought San Diego was going to take it until about halfway through the finals. Waka's last set sealed the deal hands down.
Never Seen a house battle b4 so that was pretty cool. What's up with the super loooooooooooong sets?!?! Gosh!
Good jam overall. Mad props to chicago tribe and everyone who helped put it together. My 1st CvC was definitely a jam to remember.
